@manton Congratulations. I only signed up this year but it’s made my 2018 and looking forward to much more in the years to come

@petebrown makes me sad. We used to go to Cameron House hotel before Christmas and taking that selfie in their tree was part of that tradition. Maybe next year.
@pgor clearly, it’s a hard life.
@DiplomaticDiva lovely image, but the photo only touches 1 of the senses. I love the sound and smell of an open fire, to say nothing of the heat from the flames... Magical.
@JohnPhilpin Nice to hear you John. A nice, solid start to your podcast.
@JohnPhilpin For the moment @cleverdevil's script is scratching I have for photo sharing
@amit I admit cross-posting isn’t the right term, more like posting content to Wordpress, Micro-Blog or both. I need to collate my thoughts, and limited understanding into a follow-up post.
@rnv Everyone here loves to hear about strong opinions, even the ones we don't agree with.
Regardless of which tool you use, it's just a tool to get the job(s) done. It's not actually the job.
(For the record, I'm in the OmniFocus camp)
@JohnPhilpin No, I think instead it’s that I don’t understand how I really want to both setup and use my portion of the web. However outside of the dull, practical and boring site with my resume, my central use for is through Micro.Blog, and removing friction should mean I post faster and more frequently.
@roelwillems just wondered what happened if you post older images, if they are placed into order
@roelwillems how does blot handle dateson photos? By date taken?
@roelwillems by “(hosted)” do you mean by Manton, or by another service. I’m currently using Wordpress hosted by SiteGround, but re-thinking what could be improved to remove friction in posting from different platforms.
@roelwillems This looks tempting. I'm thinking that my current Wordpress setup is overkill for what I really want.
@iamjaco there should always be time for a coffee
@jack that Queen box set really stands out
@jack actually I feel like there should be a suitable collective noun for dongles. A thicket. A convoy. Or maybe a nest.
@jack is that keyboard USB-C? Or are you running a sequence of dongles?
@ronguest my existing media has been transcoded for the iPad, so I’m recreating a new library with mkv files.
@jemostrom I’ve found that Apple’s Mail app syncs settings and smart folders between computers. Whilst I can see the value in this, I don’t want the same settings on my home iMac and work MacBook Pro. So I’ve been looking for a suitable replacement for a while.
@brentsimmons the rest of world just prays
@jack after watching the event I was looking into the MacBook Air, but realised this would be essentially for consumption, for sitting on the sofa and not (importantly) not feeling like I’m still working. So to my disappointment I reached the conclusion that what I want (but not technically need) is a (new) satellite device, as you call it.
@Lioncourt oh I’ll be leaving that for another 50 days or so
@sumudu not exactly but the implementation is poor. It took me multiple attempts to add a link. It’s hiding markdown syntax behind auto formatted text but there doesn’t seem to be an option to disable that. I’d rather see plain markdown in editing mode.
@patrickrhone I'm not sure about those dynamic backlit key effects.
