@JohnPhilpin sounds like I stick with derekpeden.com for the serious stuff and sub domains for micro blog and main blog

@bbohling omg I saw wanted one of those, could never think of what to use it for, but wanted one regardless

@fancythatamanda 3. Write 3.1 Write some more 3.1.1 Write again

@JohnPhilpin thank you John! I really appreciate the thought and work that went into that post. I’ll need to match that with some work on that to set it up. I’ll need to transfer my existing domain from Wordpress as well.

@vanessa #lunchtime-hangover

@vanessa Fab! We had a “bottomless champagne brunch” in Manchester in February. Best breakfast ever. (Can just about remember it)

@vanessa Oh I do like a good Eggs Benedict or Royale.

@sumudu secondary to what?

@JohnPhilpin thanks. My understanding is I’d need :

Domain Registration (Hover) + Hosting (Siteground) + Wordpress

Am I right? And I could use sub domains for other sites?

@JohnPhilpin subdomains? Is that possible on Wordpress.com? I do have my own domain there, so it would be great to just use a subdomain for everything else

@JohnPhilpin this might be. This is just the hosting? What about domain registration and the... setup/templates (drawing a blank on terminology)

@kaa @johnphilpin @vanessa Might not be finished yet. Just found out about ads on Wordpress 🤦🏼‍♂️

@JohnPhilpin oh... not sure MarsEdit can help you there ( @danielpunkass ) . Maybe with some Applescript or Keyboard Maestro

@jack congratulations to both of you!

@JohnPhilpin opened each one (of 3); amended the links; changed blog and submitted. Not migrate everything but that’s fine at the moment.

@vanessa “sticking with it” is the main reason I want to keep initial costs down. This might be something I loose interest in (as with previous other blogs I’ve started)

@vanessa who are you using for hosting?

@JohnPhilpin MarsEdit. Already done (or should be)

@toddgrotenhuis @kaa what’s the formatting / temple options on blot?

@jeremycherfas update: Markdown problem with Wordpress fixed thanks to @teisam . Setting is buried DEEP inside Wordpress settings

@kaa interesting. I’d also looked at Postach

@teisam You are a GENIUS! Why this isn’t shown higher up the setting structure I’ll never know, but this is awesome!

@teisam great! I’ll have a look at this!

@jeremycherfas new post

@jeremycherfas I’d started to reply but thought it worthy of a new post...
