Twitter “Support”

In around 2015 I’d (stupidly) changed my username from my real name to an another name and now I want to change it back. Except I can’t, cause someone else is using it. Yes, my former self, living in 2015, has the username (no-one else) so twitter won’t release it to me to use in 2018.

I’ve tried their support@twitter.com email address, and you’ll be shocked to learn that they’d prefer to Tweet their support team… or at least their support Bot. And if there’s one thing more in penetrable than “press 1 if your call relates to…” automation it’s a Bot with pre-programmed Q&A.

So how I actually contact a human at Twitter? Do they actually have humans in support?

HomePod is for us to listen to it. Not the other way round…

Design is a series of choices and compromises. There needs to be focus on the key requirements, and everything else is secondary.

Given the rise in Apple’s Services revenue, Apple Music in particular, Apple’s sought to make the best speaker for home audio, which Apple regards as coming from Apples' Music Services. And sticking with the cleanest possible hardware arrangement, Apple’s chosen voice i.e. Siri, as the interaction mechanism.

Consequently, comparisons with the Amazon Echo products are limited and misaligned, as the HomePod is a “Music-First” product.

Apple will iterate and add new features, but at it’s core, the HomePod is for us to listen to it. That HomePod can listen to us is consequence of those design decisions.

Unilever Leaving Over Brexit

Disappointing but not surprising to see story this in The Times, sadly their not the first and won’t be the last major company to relocate.

Can somebody remind me again why Brexit is good for the UK economy?

Micro.blog for Podcast Commentary

It’s interesting to see the routes the Micro.blog is taking to allows users to discover content, namely listing

  • Books
  • StarTrek
  • Music

If the intention is to promote discussion and conversations then I wonder what are the next topics? TV shows? Films?

Instead I’m thinking that Podcasts would be a prime opportunity for commentary, connecting microblogs and users of the platform.

Whilst this wouldn’t diversify the user base, it could grow it and that would have to be a good thing.

Half Baked Brexit

Watching the fiasco around Brexit and the number of topics which have still be agreed but haven’t yet been discussed it’s difficult to imagine how this isn’t going to be anything other than chaos.

Every Dog Has It’s Day

So great to Minnie back fighting fit. She’s not 100% but it’s huge progress since Monday.

Shouting Into the Void

Birds tweet. They call out for whatever reason, and generally it’s background noise. The same has to be true for Twitter, where unless your in the chosen few you’re just shouting into the void in the hope of being heard.

Snowing

The problem with snow is that it makes everything look pure, white and romantic… for a while at least, and simultaneously need it to stop so you’re not trapped indoors.

Seriously? Another Blog?

Yes, another blog. Or a mico-blog at least. This has been on the to-do list for a while and I’m late in creating this as a platform for the lesser stuff that doesn’t make the site.
